The Virginia Eye Institute is a large and dynamic practice of ophthalmologists and optometrists in the Richmond, VA area, including eight locations and an ambulatory surgery center. We are looking for several Ophthalmic Technicians with a passion for eye health and a dedication to excellent patient care.
You will have responsibility for communicating with patients and representing the MDs and ODs. You’ll obtain patient history, to include chief complaint, history of present illness, past history (ocular and general), family history (ocular and general), and history of allergies and medications.
You will adhere to safety and sanitation standards. You’ll clean and calibrate equipment and report issues to the Maintenance Engineer.
You will perform tests on the patients and maintain a smooth patient flow by altering test sequence as might be required. COA or COT is strongly preferred, and required after an introductory period at the practice.
