Anne Aras Allen has been interested in painting since childhood, but during the last 10 years she has settled on watercolour because the fluidity and playfulness of this medium really appealed to her.
She usually paints animals and people as she likes to focus on the eyes to express as much emotion as possible. Her colour palette varies, depending on subject and mood, bright or muted tones will be used.
Occasionally she paints animal portraits of dogs and horses.
Prints are never made of any work, and all paintings come with a lacquered seal to show authenticity.
She lives half of the year in De Haan, Belgium, and the other half in Manakin, Virginia, this gives her the opportunity to participate regularly in exhibitions in both countries.
