Baseer Ahmad, M.D. is Board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and specializes in diseases and surgery of the retina and vitreous. Dr. Ahmad received his undergraduate degree in electrical engineering and worked for several years in the field prior to his medical training. He received his doctorate from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. His ophthalmology residency training was completed at the Cole Eye Institute of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. His fellowship training in vitreoretinal diseases and surgery was completed at The Retina Institute of St. Louis (composed by the former faculty of the prestigious Barnes Retina Institute in St. Louis, Missouri). Following his training, he joined University Hospitals of Case Western Reserve University where he was the sole vitreoretinal specialist and earned the “Teacher of the Year” award during his first year on faculty.
