Marc Malouf, MD is a board certified ophthalmologist who specializes in laser-assisted cataract surgery, complex cataract surgery, minimally invasive glaucoma surgery, as well as general ophthalmology. Dr. Malouf sees patients of all ages at our Puddledock office. His education began at Georgetown University for undergraduate studies followed by medical school at George Washington University. He then completed a general surgery internship at VCU Medical Center. His ophthalmology residency was completed at University of Maryland Medical Center / Shock Trauma Center where, among other things, he gained extensive experience in traumatic eye injuries and published multiple research articles.
As a third generation ophthalmologist, Dr. Malouf started his career in the DC Metropolitan area where he has taken on some of the area’s toughest cases and performed thousands of surgeries. In addition to his special interest in complex, high-risk cataract surgeries, he brings significant experience in performing several types of minimally invasive glaucoma procedures and laser-assisted cataract surgery. Dr. Malouf applies a customized approach to his cataract surgeries and utilizes the latest, advanced technology lenses to maximize patients’ vision and minimize their need for glasses. His stellar reputation amongst his peers earned him a “Top Doctor” designation by Northern Virginia Magazine in 2021.
Dr. Malouf is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons, Medical Society of Virginia, as well as the Virginia Society of Eye Physicians and Surgeons. When not working, Dr. Malouf enjoys traveling internationally to experience new cultures, and especially new foods.
