We call the group showing here The Northside Painters. The Northside Painters is a group of painters and their instructor, Brenda Stankus. Brenda has been teaching adult painting classes for 40 years. The paintings exhibited here at Lewis Ginter Botanical Gardens for the months of April & May 2024 are painted by current students who take weekly classes at her classroom at 1229 Bellevue Ave. We are excited to be here.
It all started when we began to hold an annual show and sale each Fall. All current students are invited to participate in all of our exhibits. This includes long-time students who enjoy the classes and have been painting together for years, as well as new students who are just
starting out.
Brenda personally paints in all mediums, choosing the one she thinks best suits her subject, and she loves experimentation! She says, “My students endlessly inspire me as well, and we hope their works here inspire others.”
