Joseph R. Grubbs, Jr., M.D., M.P.H is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and specializes in cataract surgery, laser surgery, and comprehensive ophthalmology. Dr. Grubbs received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine, where he graduated with several honors including being inducted into the Alpha Omega Alpha National Medical Honor Society. He also earned his Masters in Public Health from the University of North Carolina.
Dr. Grubbs completed his ophthalmology residency training at the University of Michigan Kellogg Eye Center, where he published several journal articles, served on the residency’s education committee, and participated in medical outreach on the Caribbean island of Jamaica.
His practice goals are to provide high quality, compassionate care to his patients and to expand access to eye care both locally and globally.
