Irfan Khan,

M.D.

Irfan Khan, MD, is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in general eye care, with a particular interest in treating ocular immunology and uveitis. Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Dr. Khan received his medical degree from the Saint Louis University School of Medicine prior to completing his residency training at UVA. He then moved on to the Wilmer Eye Institute at Johns Hopkins Hospital to participate in the Uveitis Fellowship Program. Dr. Khan returned to UVA in 2018 as a faculty member.

Dr. Khan evaluates and manages patients with Thyroid Eye Disease (TED), also known as Graves’ Eye Disease. This condition can affect the eyes and surrounding tissues, causing symptoms such as irritation, bulging, and vision changes. Dr. Khan works closely with patients to develop personalized treatment plans and coordinates care when needed to support both eye health and overall well-being.

In his free time, Dr. Khan enjoys spending time with his wife and family and catching up on his favorite television shows.
