Kelly Ruland,

M.D.

Dr. Kelly Ruland is a comprehensive ophthalmologist with training in pediatric ocular conditions and strabismus. She grew up in Virginia and is very excited to establish a practice in Richmond.

Dr. Ruland received her undergraduate degree at the University of Virginia and her medical degree from Drexel University College of Medicine, where she was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society. After completing an internship in general surgery and a residency program in ophthalmology at the University of Virginia, she did a fellowship in pediatric ophthalmology and strabismus at Vanderbilt Eye Institute.

Dr. Ruland’s passion is working with pediatric patients to treat strabismus, amblyopia, juvenile cataracts, and congenital ptosis. However, she also enjoys working with adult patients, offering comprehensive eye exams as well as surgical treatment for adult cataracts and ocular motility disorders. In her free time she enjoys traveling, hiking, running, and yoga. She is thrilled for the opportunity to join the VEI and Richmond communities.
