We would like to give a special shout out to our own ophthalmologist, Dr. Donna Brown, and her team for working with World Pediatric Project during their annual eye surgery mission to St. Vincent from February 15-22!
From World Pediatric Project:
During the course of the week Dr. Brown evaluated 38 patients and performed 17 surgeries. Dr. Brown works closely with Vincentian adult ophthalmologists Dr. Orly Adams and Dr. Cherrise Grant-Ledger to screen children for strabismus, ptosis, congenital cataracts and other reparable ophthalmology conditions. This was the fourth year the team was able to perform cataract surgeries made possible by the new OR at Milton Cato Memorial Hospital, saving families a time-intensive trip to the United States.
