Philip Cofoid,
M.D.
Born and raised in McAllen, Texas, Dr. Cofoid attended Southern Methodist University in Dallas where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. He went on to receive his Doctor of Medicine degree from Texas Tech University School of Medicine. Subsequently, Dr. Cofoid completed an internship at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth and then went on to an ophthalmology residency at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, VA.
Dr. Cofoid practices comprehensive ophthalmology with a special interest in cataract surgery, glaucoma care, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy.
