Kishan Patel

Kishan Patel, O.D is an optometrist who is board certified by the National Board of Examiners in Optometry and has completed advanced training in cornea and contact lens care. He completed his optometric education at the University of Houston College of Optometry, where he also underwent specialized training through the prestigious Texas Eye Research and Technology Center (TERTC) at University of Houston College of Optometry.

Dr. Patel has a deep passion for advancing the field of optometry, demonstrated by his active contributions to the profession. He has presented at the prestigious Global Specialty Lens Symposium in Las Vegas, where he shared his expertise on advanced contact lens practices, techniques for assessing corneal scarring, and methods for evaluating keratoconus. His research and clinical work have been published in the esteemed peer-reviewed journal Optometry and Contact Lens and Contact Lens Spectrum journals.

At Virginia Eye Institute, Dr. Patel is committed to providing exceptional care for his patients, specializing in complex contact lens fittings, corneal health, and comprehensive eye care. Outside of work, Dr. Patel is a passionate basketball fan and enjoys exploring the diverse vineyards throughout Virginia.
