Ryan F. Deasy M.D.

Dr. Ryan F. Deasy is an experienced Vitreoretinal Surgeon and one of the latest members of Virginia Eye Institute’s retinal team.  Dr. Deasy’s list of specialties include general ophthalmology and the medical and surgical treatment of retinal conditions including: Diabetic Eye Disease, Age Related Macular Degeneration, Retinal Vascular Disease, Macular Hole Repair, Epiretinal Membrane Surgery, Primary Retinal Detachment Repair, and Complex/Recurrent Retina Detachment Repair/PVR/Advanced Surgical Diabetic Eye Disease.

Dr. Deasy received his Medical Degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine and Public Health and went on to complete his one-year transitional internship at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He completed both his residency in Ophthalmology and Fellowship in Vitreoretinal Disease and Surgery at the William H. Havener Eye Institute, Department of Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University.

After his fellowship training, he joined the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in 2008 where he served as a staff retina surgeon for 10 years. During his tenure at The Cleveland Clinic Cole Eye Institute he participated in the education and training of ophthalmology residents and surgical retina fellows as well as served as a Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.
