October 14th, 2021 is recognized as World Sight Day and the beginning of Operation Sight’s National Sight Week! Mr. Bruce Harris (pictured above on the left) had successful cataract surgery performed by our provider, Dr. Alden Bahr, through the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery (ASCRS) Operation Sight Program!

With failing eyesight, my job was coming to an end and so was my ability to drive. With no health insurance, not only were my eyes dimming, but so was life for me. Miraculously, Dr. Alden Bahr and the Virginia Eye Institute crossed my path. They didn’t hesitate to approve my operation. From the time of approval until my follow-up phone calls, everything was organized, timely, clarified and precise. Everyone I spoke with was friendly, knowledgeable and polite. My surgery was flawless, painless and my recovery quick. Now, I can see, work a substantial job and drive with confidence, even at night!
